How to migrate Translations from Server / Data Center to Cloud

Please refer to our main documentation for the Migration Assistant for general instructions on how to migrate bitvoodoo apps.

The following information is specific for the app "Translations for Confluence".

Before you migrate

As of Jul 20, 2021, 3rd party macros don’t work within other macros on Cloud. This means that if you use macros from other vendors (or other bitvoodoo apps) inside a language macro, they will not work in Confluence Cloud.

This change is due to a change in Atlassian’s security policy and has nothing to do with the Translations app.

Built-in Confluence macros are not affected by this change. You can still use macros like panels (info, note, success, warning, error), table of contents, table, emojis etc. inside your language macros.

Migration process

Migrating Translations for Confluence to Atlassian Cloud is easy.

  1. Install Translations for Confluence in your cloud instance.

  2. Migrate your content with the Migration Assistant by Atlassian.

  3. That's it! The different language macros and their content are now in the cloud. For differences in the functions and UX, see the table below.

For technical reasons, it's not possible to translate page titles in Cloud. Nobody regrets this as much as we do .
